A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life.
Charles Darwin
Charles Darwin on February 12, 1809 into a wealthy family. On his mother's side, his Grampa was a china manufacturer. On his father's side, his Grampa was a leading thinker. Charles went to study at Edinburgh University. During his time there decided to join an expedition that would last for five years. This expedition leaded to his ground breaking theories. The one about evolution and the other of natural selection. Charles Darwin died on April 19, 1882.
The two biggest contributions Darwin had was his theories of evolution and natural selection. His theory of evolution has based off of what he saw during his expedition. Everytime he went to a different island he saw a what could be categorized as a finch, but it had a few differences. He theorized that due to evolution, the finch evolved to fit what it needed to survive. This thought then lead to his idea of natural selection, which means the species that can survive the best, will survive. He published these theories in the book called On the Origin of Species. This book quickly became the most loved and hated book of all time because it questioned the Christian beliefs of the time. Darwin's work allowed for a new branch of psychology called evolutionary psychology. This has allowed for future psychologist to better determine human behavior.
